Solar for Schools
In March 2020 we completed our first project with Solar for Schools, who invested £23,000 in putting solar panels on All Saints Primary School in Otley.
The project was completed with support from Leeds City Council and The Church of England Diocese of Leeds, including educational projects for the staff and pupils of school.
In October 2020, 92 panels were fitted to Otley Library which has resulted in a 30kWp solar panel system to provide the library with a source of renewable energy. This project was supported by Otley Town Council and Leeds City Council. It was the first projects of its kind by Solar for Schools installing solar panels on a non-school building.
In January 2021 we confirmed the installation of nearly 900 solar panels on Otley’s local secondary school.
In carbon sequestration terms, this is equivalent to planting 560 trees!
Everyone benefits from solar. Aside from the carbon and cost savings, installing solar is known to engage people with where their energy comes from and how much they are using, helping to encourage positive behaviour change.
Total impact:

1,200 solar panels installed
